其實對Treo 680已經很滿意了，覺得在穩定度上面，至少比起我的PDA T5 穩定不少。不過身為smart phone 在收訊上面，當然就是要好、不斷線，我在有些環境使用下，例如在訊號很弱下接電話會reboot, 在地下室停我的小紅（沒有訊號），走上三樓還是在那邊搜尋網路，搜尋很久還找不到。在捷運地下站穿梭的時候，就會在那邊搜尋網路。
在Palm 對unlock 毫無support 之下，在PIL上看到網路上有人放出ROM，於是今天心血來潮，就來當白老鼠吧～
放出來的ROM主要是從網站 http://discussion.treocentral.com/showthread.php?t=144028 下載下來的。
這是tomtastic 版本下的readme，我想其他版本應該都一樣。
Use at your own risk!!!
1- Backup your data. Use Backupman or similar.
-> 我是用免費的NVBackup 先對系統作一次完整的backup
2- Get an SD card prepared. Empty is best.
-> 我就使用現在裝在680上面的2G SD 卡囉
3- Plugin the power to your unit. Not a car charger, or combo sync power cable, usb cable etc. MUST BE THE AC CHARGER.
->這大概是怕update到一半電池死掉，跟著update/erase/copy的過程也死掉，大概就死機了吧～哈哈
4- Using an SD card adapter copy the three folders to your SD card. Firmware, PALM and ROM
->所以就把那三個folders(firmware/palm/ROM) copy 到SD卡上面
5- Get a 3rd party software app like Resco Explorer or FileZ. Copy it to the palm/launcher folder of the SD card.
-> 我是使用FileZ 來進行檔案copy的動作
6- Turn off radio, Insert SD card.
7- Use the specific instructions for which proceedure you are performing. Remember to get the full update both must be run.
Firmware (only needs to be done once, not everytime you try a new ROM)
A- Run 3rd party app to copy the contents of the Firmware folder to RAM. (See app instructions for help). Exit app.
->把 firmware 裡面的檔案，用FileZ Copy 到internal下面
B- Making sure the power is plugged in locate the GSM FW App. Run it, it should give you update: R01.91. If so tap "Update Now".
->確認電源有關，就執行GSM FW 囉，會看到R01.91 然後就按Update Now
C- It will reset when done.
ROM
A- Run 3rd party app to copy the contents of the ROM folder to RAM. (See app instructions for help). Exit app.
->把 ROM 裡面的檔案，用FileZ Copy 到internal下面
B- Making sure the power is plugged in locate the Romupdater app. (SD Card catagory) Run it.
->確認電源有關，就執行 ronupdater
C- type low then hit enter/return. It will update the ROM. When it is done it will tell you it is done and to hard reset.
->鍵入low 然後按enter 就開始update了，update完之後，他會叫你要hardreset
D- Hard reset, restore data.
